Investigation of the Effect of Resin Color on Anatomical Accuracy of Bone Models Printed With 3D Printer
This study aimed to compare 3D-printed bone models produced using different infill densities and resin colors in terms of weight, anatomical accuracy, level of detail, texture quality, and similarity to real anatomical bone, and to determine the effects of infill density and resin color on perceived anatomical realism.
3D-printed anatomical models provide an alternative to cadavers because they offer detailed and accurate representations of anatomy and can be touched, handled, and manipulated. In addition, they are relatively inexpensive and reproducible. Among the materials used for 3D printing in the healthcare field, light-sensitive resin is preferred because it enables the production of higher-quality and more complex structures that closely resemble real anatomical forms compared to other materials. The color of the resin and infill density used may affect the dimensions and geometric accuracy of the printed parts. Therefore, the color of the resin appears to be an important factor in creating realistic 3D models.
