Comparison of SAPS II, SOFA and APACHE II Scoring Systems for Predicting Mortality of Critically Ill Patients Admitted in a Tertiary Hospital Intensive Care Unit

This is a descriptive analytical prospective study to compare the performance of SOFA score, SAPSII score and APACHE II score in ICU mortality prediction.

All the eligible patients admitted to the ICU are enrolled in the study. For each enrolled patient SAPS II, SOFA and APACHE II score will be calculated and these patient will be followed till they are in ICU stay. A comparison of predictive performance of each score will be done for mortality in the ICU.

Inclusion Criteria:

18 years and above Admitted to ICU with expected stay of more or equal to 24 hours

Exclusion Criteria:

• whose consent could not be obtained
• treatment limitation order in form of DNI/DNR, withdrawal of life support
