Development, Implementation, and Effectiveness Evaluation of a Training Program for Health Workers on Physical Activity and Sedentary Behavior: Protocol of Aconselha + Movimento
This study aims to develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of an online training program on physical activity and sedentary behavior counseling for primary health care workers. The training program is designed to improve competencies related to physical activity and sedentary behavior counseling within primary health care settings. Health professionals working in primary health care units from selected municipalities in Brazil will be invited to participate. Outcomes related to counseling competencies and professional practices will be assessed before and after participation in the training program.
This interventional study aims to develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of an online training program focused on physical activity and sedentary behavior counseling for primary health care workers. The intervention consists of a self-directed asynchronous online training program designed to strengthen competencies related to counseling practices in primary health care settings.
The training includes approximately 180 minutes of recorded content distributed across short video lessons and practical materials delivered through an online learning platform. Participants have up to 30 days to enroll and an additional 30 days to complete the training after enrollment.
Primary health care professionals working in primary health care units from selected municipalities in Brazil will be invited to participate voluntarily. Participants who choose to participate in the training program will compose the exposed group, while professionals who choose not to participate will compose the non-exposed group.
Data collection includes assessments of competencies related to physical activity and sedentary behavior counseling at baseline and follow-up assessments. The study will be conducted across primary health care units located in selected municipalities in Brazil.
