THE EFFECT OF SCENARIO-BASED FIRST AID TRAINING ON ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES ON FIRST AID KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS OF MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS
This research aims to examine the effect of scenario-based first aid training on accidents and injuries given to middle school students on their first aid knowledge and skills. The research will be conducted using a pre-test-post-test single-group quasi-experimental design. The study will be carried out with 7th grade students (n=68) studying at Mehmet Akif Ersoy Middle School in Eğirdir district of Isparta province, Turkey.
Today, preventable injuries in childhood, such as accidents at home, school, and in traffic, are a significant public health problem. Acquiring first aid knowledge and skills at an early age is critically important for mitigating the consequences of accidents at both individual and societal levels.Data will be collected through a Descriptive Information Form, an Accident and Injury First Aid Training Knowledge Assessment Form, and a First Aid Skills Checklist. The training program consists of four sessions: two theoretical training sessions, a scenario-based application session, and an analysis session. Data will be analyzed using SPSS 25.0 program, and the significance level will be accepted as p<0.05.
