Lung transplantation has become a promising therapeutic option for various end-stage lung diseases. However, many factors such as infection, graft rejection, airway complications would cause deterioration and shorten the survival time. It is important to detect the deterioration early and receive treatment timely, which may enhance survival.
We hypothesis the decreased neural respiratory drive(NRD) would be increased in the deterioration due to the aggravation of lung. Furthermore, pro-Brain Natriuretic Peptide(pro-BNP) has been reported to be associated with greater mortality after lung transplantation. For this reason, we investigated the NRD and pro-BNP before and after lung transplantation and during deterioration.
80 patients were recruited. They were end-stage lung disease patients admitted to hospital for lung transplantation. The NRD and pro-BNP were monitored before and after lung transplantation.we investigated the NRD and pro-BNP before and after lung transplantation and during deterioration.
