The Effect of AI-Supported Discharge Education on Mothers' Knowledge Levels, Anxiety, and Readiness for Discharge: A Randomized Controlled Experimental Study
This randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the effects of artificial intelligence-assisted discharge education on mothers of children hospitalized with bronchitis/bronchiolitis. A total of 162 mothers will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: AI-assisted written discharge education, AI-assisted video discharge education, or routine discharge education. The primary outcome will be mothers' knowledge of home care after discharge. Secondary outcomes will include anxiety, readiness for hospital discharge, and satisfaction with discharge education. The study hypothesizes that AI-assisted written and video discharge education will improve mothers' knowledge and readiness for discharge, reduce anxiety, and increase satisfaction compared with routine discharge education.

This is a three-arm, parallel-group, pretest-posttest randomized controlled trial. Mothers who meet the eligibility criteria will be randomized in a 1:1:1 ratio after baseline assessments. The written education group will receive AI-assisted written discharge education, the video education group will receive AI-assisted video discharge education covering the same learning objectives, and the control group will receive routine discharge education.
Knowledge, anxiety, and readiness for hospital discharge will be assessed at baseline and before discharge. Satisfaction with discharge education will be assessed after the intervention. In the two experimental groups, routine discharge education will be provided after completion of the posttest and before hospital discharge.
