This randomized controlled trial conducted at Dokuz Eylül University evaluated whether video teleconsultations are as effective as traditional face-to-face clinic visits for helping people quit smoking

Participants in this arm received face-to-face counseling at the baseline visit, followed by 5 video-based teleconsultation sessions (at Day 10, Month 1, Month 2, Month 3, and Month 6). They also received standard pharmacological treatment (transdermal nicotine patches) and behavioral counseling (5A framework and motivational interviewing).
Participants in this arm received standard face-to-face counseling at the outpatient clinic at baseline, Day 10, Month 1, Month 2, Month 3, and Month 6. They also received standard pharmacological treatment (transdermal nicotine patches) and behavioral counseling (5A framework and motivational interviewing).
