The objective of this observational study is to assess the correlation between the severity of periodontal involvement and masticatory performance in patients with periodontitis.
The secondary objectives are to identify periodontal parameters that may be associated with a reduction in masticatory performance.
This study includes a single group.
Participants will be asked to perform a masticatory performance test consisting of chewing a piece of gum for 20 cycles.
The study will be conducted over a one-year period. Patients diagnosed with periodontitis during their treatment within the Department of Dentistry will be invited to participate in the study. After being provided with clear information about the study and after their lack of objection has been recorded, they will be asked to undergo a masticatory performance test consisting of chewing a piece of chewing gum. The chewing gum samples collected at the end of this test will be analyzed in the CROC laboratory to determine a masticatory performance value. All collected data will then be analyzed to address the study objectives.
