Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of the major causative microorganisms of ventilator-associated pneumonia often resistant to antibiotics. In experimental models, nebulization of antibiotics delivers high lung tissue concentrations of antibiotics in infected lungs and increases lung bacterial killing.
